Principal's Message

Welcome back to Term 3!

I hope you all had a wonderful, refreshing break ready to hit the ground running as we enter into a busy term.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Taggart for her outstanding leadership of the school in my absence. I feel so lucky to have such a capable leader to step in when needed. Thank you, Mrs Taggart!

Term 3 is always a busy term and I urge you to read our Term 3 Parent Calendar to mark off the important dates.

Our Athletics Carnival, et down for Week 2, Wednesday 30th July has now been POSTPONED due to the poor weather conditions forecast for tomorrow. We will update you when we have an alternative date. Miss Chiddy and Miss Longhitano have been working hard to organise this. As usual the staff will support them but we are also counting on the wonderful support of those parents who have volunteered to assist. My thanks go to you for your kind and helpful support.

Week 3 is Public Education Week and our Open Day will be held on Thursday 7th August. We will celebrate with an Open Day Art Expo in the Hall followed by a Picnic Lunch. We would love to see all of our parents, grandparents and carers attending and bringing lunch to share with their children.

Book Week comes along in Week 5. The Book Fair opens on Tuesday 19th August and there is a "Snuggle Up and Read" Mufti Day organised for Wednesday 20th August. The theme for the Children's Book Week in 2025 is "Book an Adventure". This theme is also celebrating 80 years of Children's Book Week in Australia. The theme encourages young readers to embark on literary journeys and explore new worlds through books.

At our School Development Day on Monday 22nd July, teaching staff updated their CPR and Anaphylaxis credentials, prepared for Term 3 and discussed routines related to the Science of Learning. We strengthened our knowledge of how explicit teaching of routines provides structure, predictability and consistency to support student learning.

There is so much more to inspire, excite and educate our students this term and I look forward to sharing news of these events with you.

Kind regards

Rob Francis
