President’s Update
Parents and carers play a vital role in our school community - through the P&C we do fundraising to support our kids' learning environment, we run events like the upcoming Father's Day Stall, and we run regular activities like the Band, Bookclub, Canteen, Ethics and organise the Uniform Shop amongst other things. It's a great way to meet other parents - I know I've enjoyed getting to know so many of you who have helped on an ad hoc or regular basis this year.
I'd encourage each of you to think of ways you can become involved over the remainder of this year and into next. There are many ways to volunteer - did you know you can jump on MySchoolConnect to see what upcoming opportunities there are to help out? We have Uniform Shop, Canteen and the Father's Day stall needing helpers this term.
The P&C are in need of specific help for 2026 in the Uniform Shop. Our Uniform Shop is run by P&C volunteers, providing new and second hand uniform options at reasonable prices and contributing funds raised directly back into the school via the P&C. Our current Uniform Shop team of Mel, Natalia and Chris have done a wonderful job over many years of running the shop. However, we are in need of a new Uniform Shop Coordinator and Uniform Shop Treasurer for 2026. The roles entail coordinating helpers to pack uniforms weekly, monitoring stock levels, ordering and unpacking stock and tracking the expenditure and sales of the Uniform Shop. The Coordinator role does require some hands-on availability, but the Treasurer role can be done remotely. If you think you could do one of these roles, or would simply like more information, please email Mel at pcuniformshop@nrps.org.au or myself at pcpresident@nrps.org.au.
As always, if you have any P&C related questions, please email. Feel free to join our North Ryde Public School P&C Facebook group to keep track of what's going on, and reach out to Aurawan at pcpr@nrps.org.au if you haven't already connected with your class parent. All these ways help you stay in touch and build the great community we have at our school.
