P&C Committee News
President’s Update
Firstly a huge shout out of thanks to Bunnings, the parent volunteers and Linda, our amazing P&C Environment Coordinator, for the much-needed improvements to the school playground and gardens over the last fortnight. The HMAS Friendship playground is looking fabulous as a result of your efforts!
The P&C do a lot of activities around our school to improve our school environment, coordinate events, fundraising and extra activities that help our students during their years at NRPS. This includes:
- Learning activities – coordinating the NRPS Bands & instruments, coordinating the Ethics program, running the Scholastic Book Club
- Fundraising for school needs – e.g. purchasing PSSA uniforms, playground upgrades, equipment repairs
- Organising student events – e.g. the school disco, Trivia Night, Easter Egg guessing competition, raffles, Father’s Day stall, Mother’s Day stall
- Running school community events – e.g. Tea & Tissues for Kindy parents
- Providing uniforms – running the school Uniform Shop and second-hand uniform sales
- School Canteen – running the school canteen on Fridays
We are in need of more parent helpers next year and are seeking interest from parents to take on P&C roles in 2026. Now is the time to think about how you can become involved!
Our Annual General Meeting will be held in Week 4 Term 4 where all the P&C Roles are open to nominations. In particular, our Band program and Uniform Shop are in need of Coordinators. Handover and mentoring is available for all roles.
See the list below for the range of ways parents and carers have been helping this year. I encourage you to use the School Holiday break to think about how you can help in 2026 as not all our current P&C members are returning to the school or their current roles next year.
To contact the P&C or ask questions about any of the roles, please email me at pcpresident@nrps.org.au.
